Jimmy
Coggan and Ronald Jenkins visit practice, offer advice 12/13
Fresh off their first
semester of college, former Valley Christian strike partners Ronald
Jenkins and Jimmy Coggan returned to visit. Easily the most
prolific tandem of forwards the school has had (almost 60 goals between
the two of them), the coaching staff hoped that they could offer advice
that would inspire the current VC side to put the ball in the net.
"Anytime you have players
of this caliber, that are willing to give back a little...you're
grateful," Coach Basanese said
after practice.
Jimmy Coggan finished his
illustrious VC Soccer career with 29 goals and 27 assists. He also added
4 goals and 4 assists in CCS action, and 6 game winning goals. Coggan
was awarded 1st Team All-CCS, team MVP, and probably most notably the
W.C.A.L. Offensive player of the year. In his first season at NCAA
soccer powerhouse Seattle Pacific University, Jimmy scored 5 goals
including a hat trick vs. Chico St.

Ronald Jenkins also had an
extremely successful VC Soccer career, finishing with 29 goals and 8
assists. He was a two time All-W.C.A.L. selection, and won the golden
boot in his junior year with 15 goals. Ronald redshirted for San Jose
State this season and plans to be a part of the squad next year. |
