Class of '96 Alumni, Graham Boutz, joins VC Soccer coach John Basanese
('96) at the VC Soccer Alumni game.
VC Soccer Alumni Descend on Campus for Alumni Day - 11/28
Each
year, the Valley Christian Soccer Alumni group grows larger.
Without much publicity, over 25 Men's soccer alum showed up for the
Alumni game. The game was competitive, but ended with the Alumni
stealing the show on goals from Aleks Vranicic, and Ronnie Jenkins.
To coach Basanese, the health of the program is measured
by days like these.
"We set out to build a program that people would want to come back to,
and I think the soccer program has been successful in that. It's
amazing to see Ben Hansen, and Patrick Colombana (both VC
soccer starting goalkeepers) on the same field."
"To have Justin Berding playing against his father, and guys like
Brandon Stirm (NAIA All-American) playing against Chas...that's special.
It was really fun to watch."
"We have a close knit group in this program, and it is so great to see
each of these VC alum come out, players, managers, whatever!"
"We know our current team has the support of the players who left their
mark here, and that's nice to know," concluded Basanese.
The furthest traveller was Graham Boutz ('96) Alumni who travelled from
Hawaii and joined us at the field.
In other alumni news, Aleks Vranicic ('96) and Anne Vranicic (formerly
Nettemeyer) welcomed their second child this past week, a baby girl.
The whole family is doing great! Congrats guys!!
