VC
loses 1-0 lead, loses to Bell 1/25
Valley Christian 1, Bellarmine College Prep 2
Bellarmine College
Prep, ranked #2 in CCS, traveled to Valley Christian to take on the VC
Warriors. A win would help Valley keep a hold on second place, but today
it was not to be.
Jeff Coggan staked VC to a 1-0 lead in the
20th minute on an assist by Andrew Smith.
For Jeff, the goal is his league leading 7th goal and the 20th of his
career.
The lead was short
lived as Bellarmine scored on a Penalty kick just before half-time to
make the score 1-1.
After a fairly evenly
played match, Bellarmine broke through late on a free kick to take the
lead. The game ended in a 2-1 loss.
For the Warriors, the
loss means that they drop to 4-6-6 overall. To be eligible for the CCS
playoffs, the Warriors need to finish with a .500 record. They will need
to win their final two matches (vs. Serra and Riordan) on the road to do
so.
