Valley Christian's Austin Mansker has made an oral commitment to play soccer at UC Santa Barbara, currently ranked sixth in the nation by College Soccer News.

The senior goalkeeper has been an All-Mercury News first-team selection the last two seasons and was the West Catholic Athletic League's Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.

"Austin is the type of goalkeeper that you build a program around," Warriors coach John Basanese said. "He is blessed with exceptional talent, natural leadership abilities and a passionate drive to improve himself."
