Major
League Soccer All-Star Richard Mulrooney Visits VC practice 12/08
With the W.C.A.L. opener
tomorrow, the Warriors had a special guest at practice. Richard
Mulrooney, the Major League Soccer All-Star center midfielder for the
San Jose Earthquakes visited the Warriors training session. A
supporter of VC soccer, Richie took time out of his off-season to impart
some wisdom on the Varsity and JV teams.
The MLS veteran observed
the practice and offered tips regarding college choices, pre-game diet,
and game day rituals.
The Earthquakes leader in
assists has developed a partnership with the school to run the
successful Mulrooney
Soccer Academy each summer. The camp, which VC asst. coach John
Basanese also instructs at, runs in the summer. The winter version
is Cannon-Mulrooney Soccer Camps
and it will be held this month at VC December 27-30. Players like Joe
Cannon, Jimmy Conrad, Craig Waibel, Troy Dayak, and Quakes GK coach Tim
Hanley will all be up on the VC campus instructing.
