Valley Christian Summer Soccer Camp - Day 5
Day five of the VC Soccer summer camp brought an end to what's been a great week of learning and fun times.
The goal of day 5 was to have all the things we've learned this week culminate into playing the game, and of course a dip in the pool. Coach Basanese was pleased with the results.
"I must say, we played a half field game of possession with kids from 6th grade to seniors in high school, and everyone did great. I was actually blown away at how crisp this morning's session was. I hope that the campers will take a few things away from the camp. It was a joy working with each of them!"
Today's things to remember.
-
The obvious (simple) pass is almost always the right pass. Identify the obvious ball, and play it right away. Or as coach Basanese says: "The obvious ball, right now!"
-
Simplify the game in general, if you move after you pass, the space will be there.
-
If you find yourself playing goalie, try not to be scored on by the other goalie!
-
When swimming, don't hang on the lane dividers. : - )
Thanks again to all the campers for making this year's camp great! We are looking forward to seeing all of you out there again next year!
